Erica is the managing partner at the firm. Her practice focuses on intellectual property law and management. She has approximately twenty-five (25) years experience in managing intellectual property portfolios, inclusive of trade marks, design copyrights, copyrights and patents. She currently serves as a 2-year appointed member of the Trademark Office Practice Committee of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and co-chairs the Intellectual Property Committee of The Bahamas Bar Association.
Erica is experienced in a wide spectrum of trust, estate planning and corporate matters. She served as a senior officer at one of Nassau’s oldest trust companies and was responsible for managing complex fiduciary and corporate structures for high net worth clients and overseeing corporate pension plans. She also served as a director of several the establishment’s resident and non-resident nominee companies and Senior Officer I of a non-resident bank.
Erica is a local expert in non-profit incorporations and has drafted incorporation documents for non-profit organizations in various sectors including environmental, agricultural and entertainment industries.

Erica regularly counsels financial institutions on domestic mortgages and debentures and conveyancing matters. She has experience in resort development, condominium matters and resident and commercial leases. She also conducts Quieting Title litigation.

Areas of Practice:
Romi holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) degree in Ecology and Chemistry from the University of the West Indies and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of London. He was also called to both the Bar of England and Wales at Lincolns Inn and The Bahamas Bar in 2000 and 2001, respectively.
Romi began his career in the public sector at the Department of Fisheries as a Fisheries Officer responsible for aquaculture, marine mammals, wetland and coral reef conservation. He later joined the Bahamas Electricity Corporation as an Environmental Officer responsible for environmental management, environment impact assessments, brownfields and emissions management.
In 2000, Romi commenced his legal career. He is the founding partner of Ferreira & Company and specializes in environmental law. He is an affiliate member of The Bahamas Society of Engineers.
Romi has extensive professional expertise encompassing energy, water & sanitation, EIA’s, public administrative law, conveyancing, legal drafting, litigation and environmental policy development.
